Interiors Coffee Morning ➕

This Wednesday was the first (and hopefully not last) Bound No.82 Interiors Coffee Morning hosted by myself and Becki from Studio Van Oliver.

The event was created so that we could join together, connect, discuss all things interiors and of course, meet over great coffee - provided by Wed Flowers & Cafe,  a beautiful local brand here in Abu Dhabi.

The highlight of the event, despite some delicious pastries, was the live styling workshop from Becki where she showcased ideas and methods on how to use pieces in your home to update and create beautifully styled spaces.

Becki from Studio Van Oliver, which is a residential interior design studio based in Dubai, shared how different pieces can used in your home, but also which items and accessories make the perfect additions when styling decor.

Examples of this included how and where to place artwork, which items compliment others, the perfect ratio of colours to use, and tips and tricks on how everyday items can be incorporated into your home to fit within your ideal design scheme.

The workshop was a huge success, and most importantly, the event was full of inspiration from the advice shared, the connections made and the buzz in the air.  I absolutely loved meeting everyone that kindly took the time to attend and help work towards growing and supporting a wonderful community here in Abu Dhabi.

The refreshments at the event were also supplied by two brands local here to Abu Dhabi - shop small, support local an ethos I truly believe in - with superb danishes and pastries baked freshly by Knead Bakery & Patisserie, and coffee from Wed Flowers & Cafe also based in the city.

Some of the key pieces that Becki recommended to use include the following:

Woven Baskets

These are fab in a practical sense for creating storage solutions and can easily be added to shelfing and cabinets, but they also are great for softening the aesthetic of these large angular pieces.  Add one to the side to create that all-important styling triangle and fill with your favourite cushions and textiles.

See some of my favourite pieces here from The Basket Collection.

Beaded Tassels

These accessories are superb at providing the finishing touch to a space when adding styling moments throughout your home.  Pop them in bowl, rest them on some books, and style with your favourite candle and create an instant style update.

View both available colours here.

Wooden Bowls

These are available in a variety of shapes and sizes and just like the baskets, are so versatile.

They are great for quickly adding to a shelf display or to finishing dressing your console table - fill with some of the wooden beads or leave as they are showing off the natural beauty of the wood.

Carved from reclaimed teak wood, the beauty of them is found in their unique grain and textures.

The full range is available to view here.
